SANTA CLARA (CBS SF) -- The San Francisco 49ers will complete their preseason scheudule Thursday night with their traditional exhibition matchup with the San Diego Chargers.
The 49ers bring a 1-2 record into the final preseason game against the 2-1 Chargers at Levi's Stadium in Santa Clara. The two teams have played an exhibition game against each other every year since 1987.
Both teams are expected to rest the majority of their starters Thursday night, but for those who are playing, the game could be their final opportunity to impress coaches and win a spot on the team.
All NFL teams have until Saturday afternoon to cut their rosters down to the 53-player limit.
The 49ers will open the regular season on Monday night, September 14th against the Minnesota Vikings.
