Oakland Police Identify Suspect In Road Rage Shooting Of 30-Year-Old Mother

OAKLAND (KCBS) — Oakland police identified the 20-year-old man under arrest in connection with what appears to have been a road rage shooting death on Sunday.

Oakland police officials held a press conference Thursday morning to identify the suspect arrested in Elk Grove on Wednesday as Carl Stephen Dubose, of Oakland.

No formal charges have been filed and the investigation into the incident is ongoing.

Perla Aviña was shot dead on Oct. 26 shortly after 12:30 p.m. while riding in a black 1998 Toyota Camry traveling south in the 400 to 600 blocks of 99th Avenue, according to police.

A reward offered by Oakland police and Crime Stoppers of Oakland in connection with the case was at $30,000 as of Monday.
