4 Construction Workers Injured In Foster City Partial Building Collapse
FOSTER CITY (BCN)__ Four construction workers were injured Monday morning when a building they were working on in Foster City partially collapsed, according to a spokesman with the California Division of Occupational Safety and Health.
Fire crews were dispatched to the partial collapse at a building site on Triton Drive around 10:30 a.m., a Foster City Fire Department dispatcher said.
Two workers building the framing for a new Carl's Jr. suffered moderate injuries in the structure collapse and two others suffered minor injuries, according to Cal/OSHA spokesman Peter Melton. They were all transferred to Stanford Hospital.
A construction worker from a nearby site said high winds could have been a contributing factor to the framework's collapse.
No one from the construction company was available for comment.
Cal/OSHA investigators were working at the scene to determine how exactly the accident happened.
