4.1 Earthquake Rattles South Bay

SAN JOSE (CBS SF) -- A light earthquake shook an area of the South Bay Monday afternoon and was felt in many parts of the Bay Area.

The quake had a magnitude of 4.1 and hit at 5:53 p.m., according to the U.S. Geological Survey.

It was centered about 12 miles east of downtown San Jose on the southern end of Joseph D. Grant County Park, just east of Mount Hamilton.

There was no word of any damage or injuries.
