San Jose Pet Shop Seeking Stolen Guinea Pig

SAN JOSE (KCBS) — The owners of a San Jose pet store are turning to social media in an effort to find guinea pig that was stolen on Wednesday.

"Jenny" was taken from Andy's Pet Shop at 51 Notre Dame Avenue.

The black and white Abyssinian guinea pig has a distinctive white streak down the front of her face and orange markings around her head.

She is five years old and had been rescued from a local shelter. She and another guinea pig named Rose had been put up for adoption together. The shop employees said they are a bonded pair relying on each other for stability and happiness.

They are also concerned that whoever took Jenny could attempt using her for breeding. Because of her age, she can no longer safely deliver babies and may not survive labor.

Anyone with information can contact Andy's Pet Shop at 408-297-0840 or North Star Rescue at adoptions@northstarrescue.org.
