30-Acre Brush Fire Burning Near Danville Elementary School

DANVILLE (CBS SF) -- Firefighters are working to put out a grass fire burning in Danville Tuesday afternoon, Cal Fire officials said.

The fire was reported in the area of 2200 Holbrook Drive, near Sycamore Valley Elementary School, at about 11:15 a.m.

As of 11:30 a.m., flames were still spreading and 30 acres had been consumed. The fire could grow as large as 50-60 acres, according to Cal Fire.

Firefighters were still working to contain the blaze as of early Tuesday afternoon but no structures are threatened and no one has been injured by the fire.

There have been no reports of any injuries Tuesday morning from a vegetation fire that has burned 150 acres since it began Monday morning in a remote area near Vacaville, according to Cal Fire.
