Shooting Blocks Away From Warriors Parade In Oakland Injures 3

OAKLAND (CBS SF) -- Three people were injured in a shooting just blocks from the Golden State Warriors victory rally in Oakland, which was going on at the time, according to the Oakland Police Department.

"At approximately 12:11 p.m., there was an isolated incident in the 1800 block of Lakeshore Ave., outside of the boundaries of the secured rally site which was located near the Henry J. Kaiser Convention Center," said police spokeswoman Officer Johnna Watson. "Oakland Police officers responded to a report of a shooting and once on scene officers located three male victims suffering from gunshot wounds. Preliminary information indicates that the subjects were involved in an argument with another party before the shooting occurred."

Video from the scene posted to social media showed two people receiving medical attention among a crowd of Warriors fans attending the parade and rally.

Police said initially two victims were in critical condition and one was in stable condition. A subsequent police report said all three men were in stable conditon.

There were no initial indications about what caused the shooting. Published reports said witnesses saw the gunman flee the scene but CBS San Francisco has not independently confirmed that information.
