3 Quakes Shake Monterey County In Less Than 24 Hours

KING CITY (CBS SF) -- Three small quakes shook Monterey County since Sunday.

An earthquake with a preliminary magnitude of 3.3 struck less than 17 miles east of King City Monday morning, according to the U.S. Geological Survey.

The quake struck at 4:35 a.m. and was almost five miles deep.

Two smaller earthquakes struck Monterey County on Sunday, according to the USGS.

A magnitude-1.5 earthquake hit less than 25 miles northeast of King City just before 10 a.m., and a magnitude-1.2 earthquake hit less than 17 miles east-northeast of Soledad just before 3 p.m.
