3 Oakland Police Officers Accused Of Sexual Misconduct

OAKLAND (CBS SF) -- Internal investigation launched into alleged sexual misconduct by three Oakland police officers.

Oakland police spokeswoman Johnna Watson said in a statement Wednesday that the Oakland Police Department's Internal Affairs Division has been launched an investigation regarding the allegations of sexual misconduct and that the three officers have been placed on paid administrative leave.

Watson said in a statement Wednesday:

"As a public safety agency charged with protecting our community along with upholding and enforcing the law, the Oakland Police Department takes all allegations of misconduct involving our employees seriously. Ensuring internal investigations are swift, fair, and objective is our priority.The Oakland Police Department will not tolerate misconduct of any kind from its employees. The Oakland Police Department holds all employees accountable for their actions on and off duty."

The Oakland Police Department did not release the names of the officers who were placed on leave and did not provide any details about when the alleged sexual misconduct occurred.
