3 Dead In Fiery Crash In El Sobrante

EL SOBRANTE (CBS SF) -- Three people have died and one person is suffering from major injuries following a fiery crash Sunday night in El Sobrante.

The first report of the collision came in at about 10 p.m. at or near 6350 San Pablo Dam Road and Canyon Oaks, according to the California Highway Patrol.

Police said a red Camaro crossed over the center line, crashed into a Honda Civic, continued off the road and hit a tree. The driver was able to escape the vehicle before it burst into flames.

The driver survived the crash but the passengers inside the car died before firefighters could get to them.
