3.8 Magnitude Earthquake Shakes Humboldt County

EUREKA (CBS SF) -- A small earthquake shook an area of Northern California near the Oregon border Friday morning.

The quake had a 3.8 magnitude and struck at 8:13 a.m. about 25 miles south of Eureka, according to data from the U.S. Geological Survey.

The location is along the Eel River and shaking was felt in the communities of Ferndale, Fortuna and Rio Dell.

There was no word of any damage or injuries.
