2nd Crash On Same Day Leaves Tour Bus Rider Dead, 30 Injured In Northern California

REDDING (CBS/AP) -- A tour bus that had already crashed earlier in the day ran off a Northern California freeway and overturned, killing one person and injuring 30.

California Highway Patrol Officer Jeff Borgen says the bus traveling from Los Angeles to Pasco, Washington, crashed Sunday morning about 100 miles south of the Oregon border. It had hit a Denny's restaurant in Red Bluff earlier in the morning, but no one was hurt in that crash.

Borgen says a 33-year-old man from Parlier was killed.

Hospital officials tell the Sacramento Bee three people were in critical condition and three were in serious condition.

Two dozen other passengers were treated at hospitals for minor injuries. Most had been released.

Investigators say early indications show driver fatigue may be to blame for the crashes.
