2015 Rose Parade Float To Honor CHP Officer Killed On I-680 Near Alamo

PASADENA (CBS SF) -- A CHP officer killed in the line of duty in Walnut Creek will be honored in the 2015 Rose Parade.

Kenyon Youngstrom was fatally shot during a traffic stop in 2012 on the side of I-680 near Alamo after pulling over a Jeep driver for an obstructed license plate.

The 37-year old father of four will be honored with a floral portrait that will be placed on the Donate Life Rose Parade float "The Never Ending Story."

Youngstrom was a registered organ and tissue donor, and was able to save others with his donation.

23-year old Bay Area woman Clare Dowling, who is alive thanks to an organ donor's lungs will ride on the float along with other donor recipients.
