2 Police Officers Hurt In San Francisco Crash

SAN FRANCISCO (KPIX 5) -- Two San Francisco Police officers were injured in a car crash in the city's Bayview neighborhood Sunday, police said.

The crash was first reported around 5:35 p.m. Sunday.

Streets were blocked off in the area of Phelps Street and Evans Avenue.

The front of a police SUV cruiser was badly damaged in the crash.  A police spokesperson told KPIX 5 that two officers were in the SUV driving down Phelps Street when a white Lexus SUV may have driven through a stop sign, or light, and smashed into the police vehicle.
