2 People Found Dead In Novato Home In Apparent Murder-Suicide

NOVATO (CBS SF) -- Marin County sheriff's deputies were investigating a double homicide in the unincorporated Novato area Wednesday morning.

A sheriff's spokesperson said the incident appears to be a murder-suicide.

Around 9:30 a.m., deputies reported they had personnel at the scene of a residence in the 600 block of Bugeia Lane, where two people had been found dead from apparent gunshot wounds.

Marin County Sheriff's Lt. Doug Pittman said the initial observations were that the victims are a man and a woman in their mid-70s, and were found by family members arriving for a visit.

Pittman said there appeared to be no ongoing threat to the community.
