2 Men Arrested In Santa Clara Drone Store Burglary

SANTA CLARA (CBS SF) -- Two men were arrested Tuesday on suspicion of smashing the window of a drone store in Santa Clara and stealing small drones along with an iPad and backpacks, police said.

San Jose residents David Hinkel, 42, and Robert Campbell, 39, were arrested on suspicion of burglary and booked into Santa Clara County Jail, according to police.

They are suspected in the Sept. 14 burglary of Drones Plus at 2060 Duane Ave.

The window of the store was smashed during the 1 a.m. burglary.  Police released surveillance video of the suspects along with a plea for assistance.

Both men were taken into custody on Tuesday, police said. Details of their arrest were not provided but police said they have recovered the stolen items.

Hinkel will appear in court on Oct. 19 and Campbell will appear next Thursday, according to police.
