2 Hurt In West Oakland Shooting

OAKLAND (CBS SF) -- Two people were injured in a shooting in West Oakland late Monday afternoon, police said.

Officers responded to a report of shots fired around 4:45 p.m. in the 2900 block of Chestnut Street, about a block east of Adeline Street, Officer J. Moore said.

Two victims were found at the scene but Moore did not know the extent of their injuries, Moore said.

Officers, firefighters and medical crews are at the scene, police said.

Traffic is blocked to cars and pedestrians in the surrounding area, according to police.

No further details were immediately available.
