2-Alarm Fire Knocked Down At Walnut Creek Home

WALNUT CREEK (CBS SF) – Contra Costa County fire crews were able to quickly extinguish a fire that broke out at a home in Walnut Creek Wednesday morning.

Contra Costa Fire Protection District spokesman Robert Marshall said they got the initial call around 3:30 a.m. of a fire at a home on the 600 block of La Casa Via.

"When our crews arrived, they found a lot of fire and partial roof collapse from about a 4,000 square foot home. Because of the partial roof collapse and the amount of fire, we had to go to a second alarm pretty quickly," said Marshall.

Crews were able to bring the fire under control at about 4:45 a.m.
