1992 Disney 'Beauty And The Beast' VHS Cassette $500 On eBay... Really?

SAN FRANCISCO (CBS SF) -- Good news. Your old Disney VHS copy of Beauty and the Beast may be worth hundreds of dollars!

What? You tossed it out the same day you decided to get rid of those 8-track tapes? Wow, what tough luck. The original Beauty and the Beast VHS cassette is fetching as much as $500 on eBay, according to Buzzfeed.

Here's the bad news. That pristine copy (along with other used ones) is listed on eBay for $500, but no one has actually bought it.

The Internet lit up when Buzzfeed published a list of Disney memorabilia that could make you "rich." It only took about five minutes of sleuthing to see one of the most valuable items, number 5 -- a Beauty and the Beast VHS tape -- is probably more wishful thinking than anything else.

Now, if you are one of those folks still holding on to a shrink-wrapped Beauty and the Beast VHS cassette in mint condition, you might want to hold on to it… just in case.
