SAN FRANCISCO (CBS SF) -- One person was arrested after more than a dozen squatters were found in an apartment building in San Francisco's North of Panhandle neighborhood Saturday afternoon, a police spokesman said.

Officers responded to a report of squatters at a building in the 1700 block of Fulton Street near Masonic Avenue around 1:50 p.m., police spokesman Officer Albie Esparza said.

There were 16 squatters who left the building after police asked them to leave the premises, Esparza said.

One of the squatters was taken into custody on an arrest warrant, he said.
