12-Hour SWAT Standoff In Morgan Hill Ends With Arrest

MORGAN HILL (CBS SF) -- Police arrested a man after a 12-hour standoff at a Morgan Hill home Wednesday morning.

It started at 1 p.m. Tuesday when police got a call of a wanted felon on Manor Court.

When officers arrived, they saw the suspect go into a residence believed to be the home of friend. The man was wanted for several violent crimes out of San Jose and it was unclear if he was armed.

Police then evacuated the home and the entire neighborhood.

The SWAT team was called to the scene and attempted to use a bull horn to get him out of the house for the next couple of hours.

Neighbors heard loud bangs, which were likely concussion grenades.

"It kind of sounded like a flash bang," said neighbor Dalton Terry. "It was three really loud bangs."

The 24-year-old suspect was arrested at about 1 a.m. and booked into the Santa Clara County Jail.
