North Bay Driver Overturns Pickup, Leaves Trapped Passengers Behind

SANTA ROSA (CBS SF) – Two passengers were injured early Monday morning when a pickup truck overturned on southbound U.S. Highway 101 south of Santa Rosa and the driver fled, a California Highway Patrol officer said.

The male driver fled the 2005 Dodge 3500 truck when it overturned in a ditch on the west side of the highway near Todd Road around 2:10 a.m., CHP Officer Juan Leon said.

Santa Rosa fire crews responded and extricated the two trapped passengers, who suffered major injuries and were taken to Santa Rosa Memorial Hospital, Leon said.

The driver was still being sought, according to the CHP.
