10,000 Fans Party Like It's 1999 In L.A. To Celebrate USA Women's World Cup Win

LOS ANGELES (CBS SF) -- An estimated 10,000 fans packed downtown Los Angeles Tuesday to welcome home the U.S. Women's soccer team and celebrate their World Cup Title.

Cheers filled the L.A. Live Center as the players took the stage.

Team USA hasn't had a win since 1999, and loudspeakers blared, Prince's "Party Like It's '99," accordingly.

Sunday's World Cup Final was the most watched soccer game in U.S. history. Some 26.7 million viewers watched the match in America and as many as 43.2 million people tuned in for some portion of the match.

Team U.S.A. beat Japan 5 to 2.

This was the first stop on their 10-city victory tour, this summer.
