1,000+ Acre Humboldt County Forest Opening To Public

CHICO (AP) -- More than a thousand acres of timber land acquired in 2014 by Humboldt County for a community forest will finally open to the public next year.

The Eureka Times-Standard reports a $175,300 state grant announced Monday will allow the county to develop access to the property.

The forest was purchased by the county from Green Diamond Resource Company for $6.8 million.
