10-Acre Wildfire Burns Near Boy Scout Camp In Marin County

FAIRFAX (CBS SF) -- Around 60 percent of the Tamarancho Fire has been contained according to Marin County Fire spokesman Bret McTigue.

Firefighters responded to the ten-acre vegetation fire near a Boy Scout Camp just outside of Fairfax at 4:50 p.m.

Several fire personnel and aircrafts were dispatched the assist in controlling the fire.

No structures were immediately threatened and no injuries or evacuations were reported, according to McTigue.

Fire officials said they expect the fire to be fully contained by early Monday morning and Iron Springs Road will remain closed as firefighters continue to battle the blaze.

The cause of the fire is under investigation.
