1-Year-Old Girl Found Floating In Concord Backyard Swimming Pool Dies
CONTRA COSTA (KCBS) — A one-year-old girl who was found floating face down in a backyard pool in Concord Thursday night has died.
Contra Costa County Fire Marshal Robert Marshal said the incident happened at about 8 p.m. last night on Ridge Park Court.
Marshal said by the time paramedics arrived on the scene, the child had been pulled from the pool and police were administering CPR.
She was rushed to John Muir Hospital, where she later died.
Marshal said the importance of taking safety measures around pools cannot be stressed enough and that fences can be installed and that pool covers, which can support a child's weight, should be utilized.
