1 Seriously Wounded In Salinas Drive-By Shooting

SALINAS (CBS SF) -- A man was seriously wounded in a drive-by shooting in Salinas early Sunday morning, according to police.

The victim was with a female friend in front of an apartment on North Hebbron Avenue around 1:30 a.m. when someone in a passing pickup truck shot him in the back multiple times, police said.

The man was airlifted to a San Jose hospital for treatment and is expected to survive, according to police.

The victim told police that he doesn't have any problems with anyone and police said that he does not appear to be affiliated with a gang.

No suspects have been identified and an investigation into the shooting is ongoing.
