1 Killed In Mountain View Crash

MOUNTAIN VIEW (CBS SF) -- A person died at Stanford Hospital after a traffic collision Saturday night in Mountain View, California Highway Patrol officials said.

The collision was first reported at 10 p.m. on southbound U.S. Highway 101 just north of state Highway 85, CHP Officer Damian Cistaro said.

Officers responding to the collision discovered a person with major injuries, Cistaro said.

CHP officers closed two lanes of Highway 101 and issued a traffic alert at 10:18 p.m., Cistaro said.

The lanes reopened at 11:40 p.m., Cistaro said.
