1 Killed In Crash With Big-Rig Near Salinas

SALINAS (CBS SF) -- One person was killed in a collision between a big-rig and at least one vehicle northwest of Salinas Tuesday afternoon, according to the California Highway Patrol.

The collision was reported shortly after 1 p.m. on state Highway 183 at Cooper Road, CHP officials said.

The collision caused both vehicles to catch on fire and officers have closed the roadway, according to the CHP.

No other details about the crash were immediately available Tuesday afternoon.
