1 Killed After Car Crashes Into Tree On Highway 35 Near San Mateo

SAN MATEO (CBS SF) -- At least one person died Sunday night in a reported crash of a vehicle into a tree in unincorporated San Mateo County, California Highway Patrol officials said.

The crash was first reported at 9:38 p.m. on state Highway 35 near Harkins Road, CHP Officer William Ogilvie said.

Another person was extricated from a vehicle.

CHP officials issued a Sig-alert at 10:08 p.m. because all lanes of Highway 35 are blocked.
