1 Killed, 6 Wounded When Gunmen Open Fire At Baby's Birthday Party In Sacramento

SACRAMENTO (CBS/AP) -- Police say gunmen have opened fire at a baby's birthday party in a Sacramento park, killing one man and injuring six other people, including a child.

It happened about 5 p.m. Saturday at Peregrine Park in northern Sacramento.

Officer Doug Morse tells the Sacramento Bee that attackers walked up and opened fire, then fled in a car.

A man in his 20s died at the scene. Police say he's believed to be a gang member but his name hasn't been released.

Morse says six other people -- including a 7-year-old child -- received non-life threatening injuries.

The group had gathered to celebrate the birthday of a year-old child.

Police say the attack appears to be gang-related.
