Sheriff Deputies Investigate Tuesday Night Fatal Marin City Shooting

MARIN CITY (CBS SF) -- Homicide detectives were investigating a Tuesday night shooting that claimed the life of a 42-year-old man in Marin City.

The Marin County Sheriff's Office said deputies responded to numerous 911 calls of shots fired in the 400 block of Drake Avenue in Marin City at around 8 p.m.

Arriving deputies and emergency medical responders found a victim suffering from apparent gun shots wounds and unresponsive. The shooting victim was transported to a local hospital and later pronounced deceased.

Marin County Coroner's Office identified the victim as Tiyon Tony Ford, who lived in Marin City.

At this time, detectives were still actively working the investigation. Due to the early stages of this investigation, no further information was released.

"It is reported there were several witnesses to the shooting and we want your help," deputies said in a press release.
