1 Hospitalized After Multi-Car Crash On Highway 101 Near Petaluma

PETALUMA (CBS SF) -- At least one person has been taken to the hospital after a multiple vehicle collision on U.S. Highway 101 Monday morning near Petaluma, California Highway Patrol officials said.

The collision involving at least four cars was reported at 5:57 a.m. in the highway's northbound lanes just north of Pepper Road in unincorporated Sonoma County, according to the CHP.

CHP officials issued a Sig-alert closing all of the highway's northbound lanes at 6:05 a.m.

A passenger found in the backseat of one of the vehicles was taken to the hospital, according to the CHP.

All lanes reopened as of shortly before 7:15 a.m.

The CHP is seeking possible witnesses to the crash. Anyone who may have seen the collision is asked to call the agency's Rohnert Park office at (707) 588-1400.
