UPDATE: BART service resumes between Pleasant Hill, Concord after brush fire reignites near tracks

BART resumed service between Pleasant Hill and Concord stations on the Antioch line after a brush fire that was thought to have been extinguished reignited near the tracks Thursday afternoon.

Antioch-bound trains from San Francisco International Airport were turning back at Pleasant Hill while trains into Concord from Antioch station were turning back to Antioch.

BART said service between the stations was resumed as of 3:40 p.m. 

The agency originally alerted about the grass fire at 2:23 p.m. which led to delays in service. At 2:44 p.m., BART said the fire had been extinguished and service was recovering. By 3:32 p.m., BART reported the fire had reignited and service was halted between the stations.

There was no word on what caused the fire. No one was injured.

 

Grass fire limits BART Yellow Line service between Pleasant Hill, Concord stations

BART said Yellow Line riders may have limited service between Pleasant Hill and Concord because of the grass fire by the tracks in the area. 

 

County Connection buses providing service between Pleasant Hill, Concord BART stations

BART said County Connection bus routes 11, 14 & 15 were available between Concord and Pleasant Hill stations because of the trackside grass fire.

Bus drivers will accept BART tickets as fare during the bus bridge.
