Yolo County D.A. Warns Of Foreclosure Scam Email

WOODLAND (CBS13) – Yolo County authorities are warning residents about a new scam that preys on people's fears about losing their home.

A threatening email is being sent by scammers, according to a press release from the Yolo District Attorney's Office. The email contains an official-looking foreclosure notice, authorities say, designed to try to scare people into making a rash decision to give scammers their credit card information.

Authorities say the suspicious emails may also contain computer viruses which could also steal personal information.

These unsolicited or unexpected emails should be ignored or deleted.
