Pair Sought In San Joaquin Delta College Assault Arrested

STOCKTON (CBS13) -- Police say the two women suspected in the brutal beating of a Stockton college student have been arrested.

The alleged attack happened Tuesday morning as a woman was walking to class at San Joaquin Delta College. Suddenly, police say, the woman was attacked from behind.

Police say the suspects, believed to be two young women, were after the student's backpack and iPhone.

Surveillance photos of two suspects were released and shared on social media.

On Friday, Ofc. Jim Bock, a spokesperson for San Joaquin Delta College District Police Department, announced two suspects had been arrested: Kira Booth. 18, and an unidentified 16-year-old girl. Police say Booth turned herself in late Friday morning, while the 16-year-old was arrested at her home earlier.

Both suspects are facing charges of conspiracy, attempted robbery and battery. Police believe the victim was targeted.
