Woman Thwarts Robbery Attempt In Stockton

STOCKTON (CBS13) – A man was ambushed and nearly robbed as he was walking home from a liquor store late Wednesday afternoon.

According to the Stockton Police Department, a 27-year-old man was walking along the 8000 block of West Lane when, a little before 6 p.m., two young men confronted him. Apparently, the two young men had been hiding next to the Big Lots store in the area.

The man reportedly tried to run away, but the two young men were able to catch up to him and push him against the wall. The young men then started going through his pockets.

However, a woman walking in the area saw what was going on and came to the man's aid, police say. She started yelling as she ran in to help and the suspects bolted, leaving empty-handed.

Police note that one of the young men was wearing an orange-colored hoodie, while the other suspect had a black compression shirt on.
