Woman Targeted By Thief While Attending Funeral In Sacramento
SACRAMENTO (CBS13) - A woman is hoping police can catch the thief who smashed the window of her brother's car and stole her purse while she was at a funeral.
On Thursday, the victim's brother's Tesla was parked at the City Cemetery on Broadway in Sacramento. Fortunately, the dashcam was recording when a man walked around the vehicle for a few minutes. The next thing you hear on the video is the car's window being smashed. The man was then seen running to his car with a purse, getting inside and driving away. In the purse were the woman's credit cards, ID and cellphone.
She says she tracked down the cellphone to a nearby dumpster. The thief charged $900 at Target, $20 at a gas station and $100 at Starbucks before she could cancel the cards.
The suspect's car is described as an early 90s Honda Accord two-door coupe.
