Woman killed in shooting at Roseville Galleria; Boyfriend arrested

Man accused of killing girlfirend at Roseville Galleria

ROSEVILLE — Roseville police arrested a man accused of shooting and killing his girlfriend in a parking garage at the Westfield Galleria.

It happened at around 10:30 a.m. Saturday.

Investigators say the victim was a 34-year-old woman. Her name will be released once the next of kin has been notified. The suspect was later identified as 29-year-old Simranjit Singh

Both were dating and arrived at the parking garage together.

Singh initially tried to run away from the scene and left a gun inside the car, police said. That gun was recovered by officers.

"The suspect was detained very quickly, that's kind of with eyewitness accounts, with the help of security," a police spokesperson said. "We were able to locate him very quickly across the street and not on the mall property."

A second person of interest was interviewed but released after questioning.

Singh has since been booked in the Placer County Jail and faces a homicide charge.
