Woman In Critical Condition After Being Attacked At Park In Lodi

LODI (CBS13) - A woman is critical condition and recovering from surgery after she was assaulted while reportedly walking her dog in Lodi.

Just before 5:30 p.m. Monday, a woman identifying herself as Amber Danielle posted a message to Facebook writing her daughter, Jacqueline Pickett, went to walk her dog and was late coming home. Danielle wrote she was concerned because it was "not typical behavior."

Danielle later learned her daughter had been violently assaulted.

According to a police statement, around 3 p.m. Pickett was in Beckman Park in 1400 block of West Century Boulevard when she was attacked and suffered severe head injuries.

Police later arrested a 17-year-old female suspect on the charge of attempted murder. She remains in police custody.
