Woman Found Dead In Ex-Husband's Trunk Leaves Police Stumped

ANTIOCH, Calif. (AP) -- Authorities have yet to make any arrests in their investigation into the death of a woman who was found in the trunk of her ex-husband's car in the San Francisco Bay Area.

The woman's ex-husband reported her death last Friday in Antioch.

KCBS reports Wednesday that police say he told officers that he found 50-year-old Pittsburg resident Cheryl White dead in the trunk of his car. The man's name was not released.

Police say the man admitted he left her to sleep in the car's passenger seat after they had used drugs together.

The man told investigators he knew White moved to the car's trunk herself upon checking on her later. He left her there.

Police said there were no signs of foul play and an autopsy done Monday did not determine any obvious cause of death.
