Woman Convicted In Torching Of Ex-Boyfriend's Bed

REDWOOD CITY, Calif. (AP) -- A Northern California woman accused of setting her ex-boyfriend's bed on fire while he slept is facing up to five years in prison after pleading no contest to felony arson and assault charges.

San Mateo County prosecutors tell KGO-TV 20-year-old Jacqueline Rivera entered the plea on Monday as part of a deal with a maximum five-year prison term.

Rivera was accused of sneaking into her ex-boyfriend's San Mateo home in April 2012. Prosecutors say she accused him of cheating on her.

The boyfriend, then 21, awoke around 3 a.m. to find his bed on fire and began screaming.

His father put the fire out with a garden hose.

The boyfriend suffered burns to his hands and arms.
