Woman, Cat Reunited 6 Months After Being Separated By Wildfire

MIDDLETOWN, Calif. (AP) - A woman has been reunited with her cat six months after a deadly wildfire in Northern California separated them.

Nancy Underwood hadn't seen her white tabby named Muscat since the cat disappeared from her Hidden Valley Lake home as she and hundreds of people evacuated the area during the massive blaze.

The Los Angeles Times reports Monday (http://lat.ms/1PR0i2f) Underwood was driving near her home last month when she saw a cat that looked like Muscat and when she called him, he came to her.

Underwood told Middletown Animal Hospital a resident in the area had been caring for him.

The hospital says it checked Muscat and he is healthy and now has all his vaccines up to date.

It says Muscat was one of many pets that went missing during the blaze that tore through 76,000 acres and killed four people.
