Woman Attacked Along Arcade Creek Trail; Suspect Sketch Released

SACRAMENTO COUNTY (CBS13) – The Sacramento County Sheriff's Department has released a sketch of the man suspected of attacking a woman along the Arcade Creek Trail last week.

According to the department, the woman was jogging along the trail near Garfield Avenue back on March 21 when a man riding a mountain bike pulled up to her and grabbed her.

She was soon pushed to the ground while the man tried to sexually assault her, but was able to fight the man off. The man then took off.

Detectives say the man looks to be in his 20's. Along with the white t-shirt and blue jeans he was wearing at the time, detectives note that the man's mountain bike had some pink color detail.

Sergeant Lisa Bowman, spokesperson for the sheriff's department, tells CBS13 that detective cannot begin to assume that the Arcade Creek Trail attack is related to the attack of an Auburn Boulevard Subway employee from Tuesday. Further, detectives do not believe this case is related to the reported serial rapist that has hit the Madison Avenue and I-80 corridor.

Anyone who recognizes the man in the sketch is asked to call Detective Jones at (916) 874-5070.
