Woman At Center Of Police Chase Where Dogs Ran Free Dies After Jumping From Moving Bus

ANAHEIM, Calif. (AP) - Authorities say a woman who led police on a car chase that ended with several of her dogs running across the freeway has died in a separate incident in which she jumped out of a moving bus.

Anaheim police Sgt. Daron Wyatt said Tiffini Tobe leapt out of an Orange County Transportation Authority bus Feb. 18 and suffered a head injury. She was pronounced dead the following day.

Tobe was facing multiple charges for igniting a freeway chase on Jan. 18 that ended with several pit bulls running loose on Interstate 710 in Long Beach. The California Highway Patrol said officers saw her asleep at the wheel and tried to rouse her when she sped away.

Tobe posted bail and was released from jail two days before jumping off the bus.
