Woman Accused Of Killing Husband, Hiding Body With Friends' Help, Appears In Court

MARYSVILLE (CBS13) - A Yuba County woman accused of killing her husband and, with the help of two other women, burying his body in a shallow grave, appeared in a courtroom today.

Monica Rodriguez is accused of killing her husband, Juan Rodriquez, and burying his body in a shallow grave. At the hearing on Tuesday she did not enter a plea and said she is seeking her own attorney.

She is being held without bail.

Lorena Ruiz and Maria Vega are charged with murder after the fact for allegedly helping bury the victim's husband. They both entered not-guilty pleas.

Ruiz and Vega are being held on $500,000 bail, but Vega is asking to be released because she is seven months pregnant and needs medical treatments.

The three suspects' next court date is on June 8 at 3 p.m.
