Witnesses: Stockton Man Shot During Dispute Over Recyclables

STOCKTON (CBS13) - A man has been shot and killed in Stockton over what witnesses say was a senseless dispute.

The shooting happened in the area of Ash and Church streets around 10 a.m. Monday.

Witnesses tell police the shooting was over pocket change.

"This was in front of a church, you know. What else can you do? When you argue over recyclables, what is the world coming to? I mean, this is sad how people is starting to hurt over little pennies. This isn't even called for," said a Stockton resident.

Stockton police are at the scene of the shooting and say they will be there for hours as they continue their investigation. A suspect in the shooting remains on the loose.
