Wisconsin Woman Dies In Heavenly Mountain Ski Accident

CARSON CITY, Nev. (AP) -- Douglas County authorities say a woman has died in a skiing accident at Heavenly Mountain Resort in South Lake Tahoe.

The Nevada Appeal reports (http://bit.ly/219Ha87 ) that the sheriff's office said in a news release that 77-year-old Kathryn Strangman, of Madison, Wisconsin, died Tuesday after striking a tree.

Ski patrollers and emergency personnel had responded to the scene on the Nevada side of the resort. Patrollers attempted lifesaving efforts on the woman, but were unsuccessful.

An autopsy has been scheduled and the incident remains under investigation.
