Wilton Twins Turn Birthdays Into Fundraiser For Classmate With Leukemia

WILTON (CBS13) — A birthday celebration in Wilton turned into a feel-good fundraiser for a friend in need.

Two first-graders thought up a way to help a classmate in her battle against leukemia.

The birthday girls, twins Mia and Melia, didn't want presents this year. Instead, they asked family and friends to donate money for the medical bills of of 6-year-old Reese Baker.

"Instead of getting presents, we got checks for reese cuz it's really expensive," Mia said.

Reese said that made her feel happy they did it for her.

The twins' parents are matching the money raised by the girls and donating it all to the Reese Baker Fund.
