Wild Boar Carcasses Dumped Near Two Berkeley Vegetarian Restaurants

BERKELEY, Calif. (AP) - Police are investigating who left the head and skin of two dead wild boars near a pair of vegetarian restaurants in Berkeley.

Berekeley police officer Jennifer Coats tells the Oakland Tribune (http://bit.ly/1xZUpqG ) the manager of Herbivore first spotted the remains of a wild boar atop a newsstand across the street from the restaurant Monday morning.

Less than an hour later, police found another boar head near Flaco's, a restaurant that serves vegan Mexican food.

Coats says there are no specific law against dumping boar skins other than illegal dumping or littering.

She says police are trying to figure out a motive and where the animals came from.
